Rob and Claire got married on June 4th 2011 at Dolce in King of Prussia. I met with Claire and her mom, Kim back in February and I knew I’d love working with this family right off the bat. Turns out Claire and I went to the same school. I’m surprised we didn’t meet sooner!
The thing that stood out the most to me about their big day actually was not the flowers, the food, or any other of the details (although all absolutely beautiful). It was the overwhelming amount of love the entire family had not only towards Rob and Claire, but towards everyone there. Claire’s side of the family is HUGE! Her mom and dad both remarried and she has 5 sisters. It was really refreshing to see that everyone was so very close. It really seemed like it was one huge loving family.
I had fun from the second I met Claire in her hotel room until the second I left that night. I was actually sick with a sinus infection and bronchitis and honestly forgot about how bad I felt while I was there. I spent the early afternoon with the girls getting some shots of them getting ready. Lovely Locks and Touch of Blush did stunning work on their hair and makeup as always! I also spent some time on detail shots. If you know this family you will understand the significance of some of the shots in this post. Such tasteful and beautiful reminders of her sister Megan. I left admiring this family in so many ways; persevering through the unimaginable amount of grief while always being there for each other. I’m truly humbled to know these people.
The rest of the day went off without a hitch! Perfect ceremony and reception. The food was amazing. If I were a guest I would have probably spent the entire night eating. The dance floor was packed pretty early on. Even Grandma made her way out for a song. Claire’s Dad asked me to dance at one point and I was honestly tempted to put my camera down for a few and take him up on the offer. I was too afraid I’d miss a shot though!
I have to admit…I cried…3 times. How pathetic is that!? It’s their fault though. 1) I can only watch so many people cry before I cry 2) For having their first dance to a Keith Urban song (my husband and my wedding song was a Keith Urban song) 3) Claire danced with her Stepdad to a James Taylor song (again with the music, my dad and I had our dance to a James Taylor song) and because of the genuine love even I felt while she and her dad danced. Wait… I also cried when Claire’s mom did her toast. Thanks guys.
Enough babbling and onto some photos! Thank you Rob and Claire for including me in such a special day and introducing me to such a wonderful family. Congratulations to the both of you!
